Statement on accessibility
The Silesian Medical University in Katowice undertakes to ensure the accessibility of the website employee.sum.edu.pl in accordance with the Act of April 4, 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities (Journal of Laws 2019, item 848).

Some resolutions and ordinances are published as scans without a text layer.

The same route can be used to submit requests for inaccessible information and to file complaints about the failure to ensure accessibility.
Anyone has the right to request a public entity to ensure digital accessibility of a designated website. It is also possible to request access to information through the alternative means of access referred to in Article 7 of the law in question. The request should include: the contact information of the person making the request; an indication of the public entity’s website to be digitally accessible; an indication of how to contact the person making the request; an indication of the alternative method of access, if applicable.
Provision of digital accessibility of the public entity’s website shall be made without undue delay, but no later than within 7 days from the date of the request.
If the provision of the aforementioned digital accessibility cannot take place within 7 days, the public entity shall immediately notify the person making the request of the reasons for the delay and the date on which it will provide digital accessibility of the indicated website, but no longer than two months from the date of the request.
In the event that the public entity is unable to provide digital accessibility of an element of the website in accordance with the request, it shall immediately notify the person making the request of the reasons for the inability to provide digital accessibility of the indicated element indicating an alternative way to access the element.
In the case of refusal to provide digital accessibility of the public entity’s website indicated in the request, or in the case of refusal of the requesting person to use the alternative way of access, a complaint may be filed with the public entity about the provision of digital accessibility of the website.
After all possibilities have been exhausted, the complaint can also be sent to the Ombudsman.
Architectural Accessibility
The SUM Rectorate building in Katowice, at 15 Poniatowskiego Street.
The Rectorate building is accessed by two entrances in the central part of the building. The main entrance is located on the front wall of the building, directly on Poniatowskiego Street. Behind the door of the main entrance there is a staircase leading to the first floor (first floor). On the right side of the stairs is a platform for transporting disabled people in wheelchairs. To the left of the stairs (first floor) is the security desk. The second entrance is located in the rear wall of the building on the side of the inner square of the MSW hospital. It is used primarily for evacuation purposes, in case of a fire or other local emergency. There is wheelchair access. The building is equipped with a passenger elevator (Braille keys). Currently there are no designated parking spaces for people with disabilities.
All floors are accessible for wheelchair users except the basement. There are no toilets for people with disabilities.
It is possible to enter the building and all its premises with an assistance dog and a guide dog.
There are no induction loops in the building.
The building has no signage in Braille or contrast or enlarged print signage for the blind and visually impaired.
